Modern living leaves most of us in a daily state of ‘fight or flight’ with overly active sympathetic nervous systems, causing a chain of unhealthy reactions in the body. Sound works to tune the nervous system, bringing it back into balance and allowing the body to go into ‘rest and digest’, releasing a cascade of self healing reflexes.
This evening’s Sound Bath Ceremony will be a relaxing multi dimensional experience that clears the thinking mind and deeply nourishes the nervous system.

intimate family dinner
February 16, 2017 at 7:30- 9:30pm
Hosted at:
SIXTH STREET COMMUNITY CENTER
638 E 6th St., New York, New York 10009
We'll share a meal in a warm environment and participate in facilitated dinnertime discussion that cultivates depth and authenticity.
Perhaps the most human thing to do is sit in a circle and share. Guests are immediately surprised that sitting around a table of authentic, loving strangers is actually one of the easiest, most natural things to do.
You do not need to dress up. You don't need to bring anything. You don't need to worry about who's there. You don't need to be "on" or "social" or "interesting." You just need to show up. We'll take care of the rest.
Our goal is to create a safe space that cultivates openess, honesty, and vulnerability through being real with each other. These dinners are an opportunity to connect with new friends in a deeper, more meaningful way -- in a way that you may have never done before.
Each dinner will be facilitated by one of our experienced leaders. The facilitators will be holding space for the evening -- introducing questions, engaging the group in games of purposeful play, and (at times) creating an environment of authenticity and growth. These people are not "gurus" or "authorities" or anything of the sort. What they bring to these dinners is their experience & who they are a person. What you take from these evenings will be entirely up to you -- we invite you to take what you want and leave the rest.
... And while it's important what we put into our mouths -- it's even more important what comes out of our mouths (and into our ears)!
Sixth Street Community Center is dedicated to empowering the Loisaida community by organizing neighborhood residents around issues concerning food, health, and the environment. Our meal will be made with all vegan, gluten-free, and organic food from the Organic Soul Cafe - onsite at the Sixth Street Community Center. Proceeds are used to support the Sixth Street Youth Program!
A small circle of awesome, conscious people
Delicious dinner served by Organic Soul Cafe
2 hours of facilitated conversation and interactive games
A warm home environment
You show up. We take care of the rest.
